Baldwin M Grand serial 146846.…
PIANO: Baldwin, model M, 5'2" Artist Grand Piano & Matching Duet Bench, serial # 146848
Finish: Select Honduras Mahogany in Lacquer Finish
Description: Famous for their dominance in the American Piano market, Baldwin has been the # 1 selling American piano through the late '90's. This piano, made in Cincinnati, OH in the Spring of 1960, is in immaculate condition having had sparing use. It was owned by a local piano teacher who purchase the piano new on November 11, 1960. Having taught lessons on another piano, she save the Baldwin for her own personal use. However, she became ill and was not able to play on her beloved Baldwin as she had wished. This piano was immaculately cared for and it shows like new! For many years, Baldwin Artist Grands, the upper line of Baldwin pianos, have been renowned as a very sturdy and sought after piano for school and institutional use. Known for its warm sound, Baldwin Artist Grands have a very large tone for their size and are built very beautifully in this particular period. This piano is virtually the finest Baldwin Grand I have ever encountered!!! Rich and sonorous, it has a huge bass and a very beautiful treble with a buttery smooth, responsive action. Know for their beautiful cabinetry, this select mahogany case is especially gorgeous and was incredibly well-maintained. It has been completely reconditioned with the action regulated to concert standards and the hammers voiced in the German manner. This is a fabulous find in a grand piano made by an heirloom manufacturer. This is a very rare opportunity to own a Baldwin Grand in like new condition!!! |
